This page describes what CarJuice collects and why. It covers the CarJuice mobile app and this website.
Location
The mobile app uses your device's location to search for charging stations near you and, when you submit a live status report, to confirm you're actually near the station you're reporting on. Location is used for this app functionality only — it is not sold, and is not shared with third parties beyond the CarDog charging-station data lookups our backend makes on your behalf (CarDog never receives your precise location directly; our server queries it by charging-station area, not by you).
Account information
Creating an account requires an email address and password. We store your email, a hashed (never plaintext) password, and the date you accepted our Terms of Use. This is used to authenticate you and to associate your favorites, charge history, ratings, and community connections with your account.
User content
Station ratings, live status reports, and messages you send to other connected users are stored and, for ratings/status reports, visible to other users of the app. Messages are only visible to the connection they were sent within. See our Terms of Usefor what content is and isn't allowed, and how to report or block another user.
Charge history
Charging sessions you log in the app are stored locally on your device and, once you're signed in, synced to your account so you can access your history across devices.
Data we don't collect
We don't use advertising trackers, and we don't sell your data to third parties.
